So much has happened. The kids are growing everyday, especially Timothy. This little guy learned to sit up, clap, say Da Da, and sprouted 4 new teeth, all in the past month! Nicholas is learning about dinosaurs in school and had a blast at the zoo this past weekend. However, he was kinda disappointed we didn't see any dinosaurs there.

I guess the biggest news is that we are moving again. Jonathan got a new job with Halliburton in Houston. We are so happy to be back close to our parents and sisters after 6 years. We will be living in the Katy area and are super excited about the awesome schools, church prospects, and fun activities close by!

I have to say we are a bit sad to leave Duncan. We have had an amazing year here. We've met some really amazing Christian friends and had a lot of fun memories exploring all the surrounding Oklahoma towns. And of course, we are really really sad to leave our Smith and White grandparents. Nicholas has become especially attached to his Granny, Papaw, and Papaw Smith. But, I see many Oklahoma trips in our future and know that God has a plan for our lives.

The past two days have been fun for this Texan family! An Oklahoma blizzard dropped quite a few inches of snow at our house. Yesterday, Jonathan and I took turns taking Nicholas out to play in the snow. He..wait..I mean "We" had a blast. Today it has been way too cold to venture out (about 9 degrees) and Nicholas has developed a yucky asthmatic cough. But is was fun while it lasted!

Things have been going pretty good around here. Timothy is changing everyday! Nicholas is doing great and learning lots of things in preschool. I think he knows how to spell every basic color now! He's still into Cars, Toy Story, Handy Manny, and now monster trucks (Jonathan took him to a monster truck show last weekend).

I barely have time to get dressed, let alone sit down to write a few lines on the blog. But lucky for me, right now Timothy is peacefully napping and Nicholas is watching Handy Manny!

The kids are growing up so fast. Nicholas is reciting books, riding his bike, and is starting to spell words! He loves preschool and claims to have a new "girlfriend" every week! Timothy is laughing and is so close to rolling over!

We are trying to get adjusted to this cold Oklahoma weather after living in South Texas for 5 years. Nicholas is hoping for snow! We will see if a white Christmas is coming our way!
I know he's almost 3 weeks old and I haven't updated my blog. My defense is that I'm a sleep deprived new Mommy. One of the things we've discovered about Timothy is that his internal feeding clock doesn't stop just because it's nighttime. This little man eats every 3 hours on the dot!

Needless to say, things have been a bit hectic around the Smith house. Nicholas is an awesome big brother. He is very interested in Timothy and loves to be helpful...sometimes too helpful. For instance, the other morning in the kitchen I was washing bottles, Nicholas was eating, and Timothy was in his little seat...or so I thought. I turn around and Nicholas is cramming waffles into Timothy's mouth! Nicholas claims Timothy was just hungry! So we had a huge discussion about how babies only drink milk and can't eat people food because they have no teeth. Hopefully this little talk sank in!

I can't take my eyes off these two kiddos! Bottom line, I am so blessed and wouldn't change anything for the whole world!

Timothy is now full term and ready to make his appearance. I won't TMI you with any gory details, however, my doctor believes he will arrive any day now. We are all super excited. Perhaps no one more so than Nicholas. He is asking me no less than 5 million Timothy questions a day. He goes into the baby's room and plays with the toys, sits in the baby car seat, rocks in the chair, and generally creates big messes for Mommy to clean up! Hopefully, my next blog post will be titled Welcome to the World Timothy. We are truly blessed! Please keep us in your prayers.

Cassie Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05942626061439265080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5794661553123367464.post-32614655402736034292010-07-13T12:48:00.000-07:002010-07-13T12:48:56.929-07:00Buzz and Woody

Nicholas loved the movie and loves to play with his "Buzz and Woody" toys even more. The other night at dinner he announced that "I am going to be Woody for Halloween and Timothy has to be Buzz Lightyear"! It was really funny because Halloween is months away and who knows why he was thinking about costumes over dinner? Anyway, being the loving Mommy that I am, I actually ordered Nicholas' Woody costume and (sigh) Timothy's baby Buzz Lightyear costume the next day. I can't believe I'm going to dress up my little newborn as Buzz! The costumes haven't come in yet, but Nicholas is anxiously waiting on the Post Lady everyday to see if she brings them! In the meantime, he is improvising as you can see from the pictures!

I'm probably not prepared for this :)

We are just waiting on baby Timothy! We only have 11 more weeks to wait before we can see his sweet face and hold him. Last Tuesday we went for an ultrasound in Oklahoma City. It was really neat to see him moving around in 4D. He didn't want to move his hand from his face so the pictures didn't turn out as great as I'd hoped. But, it was really funny because during the ultrasound Jonathan and I looked at each and said almost at the exact moment "He looks so much like Nicholas"! We'll see if this holds true, but he definitely has Nicholas' little nose and chin.

Speaking of Nicholas, we took him to his first movie last night. We saw Toy Story 3. He loved every minute of it and kept his glasses on the whole time. It just shows you how fast he is growing up. I'm sure he wouldn't have sat through the whole movie 6 months ago. He is learning new things everyday and it's really exciting to see him so proud of himself when he accomplishes something new. In his pool the other day I taught him to blow bubbles under water. He thought he was Mr. Big Fish after that!

So it's been forever since my last blog post. Life has been a little hectic for the Smith family the last month. We moved from Texas to Oklahoma, stayed with Jonathan's very generous grandparents almost 3 weeks, then last Thursday we closed and moved into our new home. It's been hectic but well worth it. We LOVE our new house. Nicholas spends his days running from one end of the house to the other, playing in the sand box, and riding his "motorcycle" around the massive driveway. It's been a blast! We look around every night feeling so blessed that God has been so generous to us.

Tomorrow, I will be 6 months pregnant! I have to say the second time around has gone by sooo fast. Only 3 months to go and little Timothy will arrive. Jonathan and Nicholas put his crib together the other night. Now Nicholas asks about a million baby questions a day. I think he's getting a little excited about being a big brother.

The first picture is our last family shot taken in our Corpus house.

The next is the happy couple in our new backyard.

Next pic, is Jonathan and Nick at Granny and Papaw White's house.

Then we have Nicholas and his new buddy Brendan Conway. They are so funny together. It is "literally" monkey-see monkey-do with those two.

Today starts our last week in Corpus Christi. We have lived here a month short of 5 years and have truly been blessed by the experience. It was the perfect place to begin our marriage and start our family. It makes me sad to think about leaving the place where Jonathan and I bought our first house, had our first child, watched Nicholas take his first steps, and his first run on the beach, where we found our first church family, and made some of our first life long friends. We know that God has big plans in store for us in Oklahoma, but we will always look back on our time in Corpus with love and fondness for all the memories we have made and shared with friends.

This will probably be my last blog post for a few weeks. I will be in between houses and computers. I will post again from Oklahoma when we get settled! Here is a few pictures of Nicholas from our last trip to the beach. Love to everyone!
To put it frankly, it was not a success! Nicholas spent the whole time running around and avoiding the camera. I was so frustrated with him. But what can you do? He just wanted to have a good time.
Hopefully, if the baby cooperates, we will know if baby Smith is a boy or girl. Jonathan says we just hope it's a human (sometimes I don't know why I put up with him)! LOL! Anyway, just pray that all goes well and that baby is healthy. I've still been having some pregnancy related problems and the doctor is hoping this ultrasound will give us some insight into what's going on. Also, keep praying about the house situation. We've had lots and lots of lookers but no takers! Jonathan leaves next weekend to start his new job. So we need to get moving! We wish everyone a happy Easter and hope we all remember to be thankful this weekend for Jesus' sacrifice for all. Love to everyone!

Last week we spent a few days in Duncan house hunting. Strangely enough, the housing market there is defying the rest of the country and is actually doing quite well. So there wasn't much to choose from and we had to act fast. We fell in love with an older home in a beautiful subdivision. Even though, I swore up and down that this time we would not buy an old house! What can I say? I just like character. I won't be posting pics of the house because it isn't legal! But, lets just say I'm very happy with our choice. Now we just need to pray that the perfect person comes along and wants to buy our Corpus house. Nicholas and I are rather fond of Jonathan and really don't want to live apart from him any longer than necessary.
It wouldn't be a blog post without new Nicholas pics, so the first picture is in honor of St. Patty's Day. The next few pictures are of Nicholas outside being himself. Notice the tools in the back of his "motorcycle". Yes, the tricycle is NOT a bike it is a motorcycle and anyone who says differently has to answer to Nicholas!Cassie Smithhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/05942626061439265080noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5794661553123367464.post-68826284078511732972010-02-16T09:40:00.000-08:002010-02-16T09:52:58.040-08:00Big Changes Coming Soon
Hello Everyone! So many things are happening so fast it's been hard to keep up! First of all, for those of you who havent heard, we have a new baby on the way! The due date is September 12. I went to the doctor today and everything looks great. The heartbeat is strong and all is well! I'm almost 3 months along. We are sooo excited! It will be fun to have both their birthdays in the same month. I told Nicholas there was a baby inside Mommy's tummy and he was going to be a big brother. His response was "It will be a boy baby, E's baby". So there you have his prediction. The only baby experience he has is with his friend Ethan's baby brother. So of course the baby has to be like E's baby! It's too funny the way his mind works! Heres a pic of Nicholas and baby E having a

conversation!

The next big change possibly heading our way is that we may be moving to Duncan, Ok very very soon. This is all work related of course, but I won't go into any details just yet! I will just say that if we move I will miss my friends and church family here more than words can express. However, I want to be where God has planned for us to be, so whatever the decision, I will know that it is the right one! I hope that sentence made sense. Anyway, my Mom and Papaw were here this past weekend and Nicholas kept saying he wanted a cowboy hat just like Papaw's! Well of course, Gigi aka my mom, went down to Cavendars and bought him one his own size. Except now the child will barely take it off his head! I have to bribe him not to wear it when we go out! His Da-do said Nicholas is just preparing to be an Oklahoma Cowboy. Maybe he is right.....

Yesterday I got Nicholas out of the house and took him to storytime at the library and to eat at Mcdonalds. He was like a caged tiger being freed from the zoo! It was so refreshing to watch him have some fun at last. This morning he woke up ready to go to Rainbow School. He told me "we are going to sing Mickey Mouse and Jesus Loves Me and I so excited Mommy"!

On a darker note, a dangerous new ailment has come over Nicholas. It is called the TERRIBLE TWO'S! Nicholas is now under the impression that he is in charge of the household and spends his days pitching fits and trying to overthrow the government in power AKA Jonathan and myself. For example, if he goes to the time out chair the rule is that he must apologize before he can get up. So one of us will go and say "ok Nicholas tell me your'e sorry and you can get up" to which he shakes his head and says "NO"! He would rather sit in that chair 20 minutes than apologize! He has a huge stubborn streak! Jonathan and Mom say that he gets this from me. Of course, I don't believe that for a minute! So pray for our sanity as we deal with temper tantrums this week. Nicholas is such a blessing in so many ways that I will take the terrible twos, as long as he still gives lots of sweet hugs and kisses to make up for them!

I've also included a sick picture and a happy Nicholas picture. In the happy picture he has his tool box and work gloves on. He thinks he is Mr. Fix It!

We started out with stomach bug symptoms, then it has progressed to fever, cold, and flu stuff! Yuck! Yesterday we thought the worst was behind us, only to have Nicholas wake up this morning with fever, coughing, and vomiting. Right this minute my dear husband is bleaching down all surfaces. I thought I would update the blog to let everyone know why we have been hermits to the outside world. We miss our friends, family, church, and just the outdoors in general. If Nicholas isn't better tomorrow, we will be heading to the doctor. Say a quick prayer today for our return to health and pray we can come out of confinement soon! Thought I would post an unhappy Nicholas picture to further my point. Love to everyone.
He keeps calling it a snowman hat and won't take it off his head! He looks like a little home boy.

This is also Jonathan and my birthday week! To celebrate Jonathan took me to The Republic of Texas at the top of the Omni Hotel here in Corpus. He had pink roses waiting at the table for me. What a great husband I have! I can't believe we are 26 and 27. It seems like only yesterday we were 16 and 17 and getting separated in the church van for "PDA"! (holding hands is not a crime) LOL! Anyway, it's been a wonderful almost 10 years.
Nicholas loved seeing all his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc! Our Jeep was full of stuff on the way home and I am struggling to find a place for all the new toys. We are so blessed to have over-generous families. As a result our child wants for nothing and we rarely have to buy anything for him but food and pull-ups! Thanks family! This picture is of Nicholas and his new garbage truck. The child is seriously obsessed. At every family Christmas he was more interested in helping everyone pick up the trash than opening presents!

On Saturday we celebrated Mamaw's 100th birthday! It was so nice getting to see all my relatives that I haven't talked to in many years. Everything was beautiful, including Mamaw! She is such an inspiration to everyone she meets. Nicholas' grandpa aka "Da-Do" went to Oklahoma this week and he made Nicholas a snowman at Great Papaw Smith's house. Nicholas is thrilled with the snowman pics and keeps begging to go to Papaw Smiths so he can help Da-Do make a snowman! Poor Texas Coastal Bend child!

Well the boys are napping so I thought I would create a family blog for lack of anything better to do! We had a great Christmas yesterday. Nicholas got lots of toys, which if you've ever been to my house you know he didn't need. But, it was fun and I got a new flip video cam and the new Wii Fit Plus. I really need to get started on that one. I have had numerous sweets this holiday season. We are looking forward to traveling to Baytown to see our families, where Nicholas will get countless more unneeded toys! But hey, you're only two once right? Then we are headed to Jasper for my great-grandma's 100th birthday! So pray for our safe travel and I will try to keep up with this blog. Maybe!
