Just Waiting on Baby....

There's not much going on with the Smith's these days.  We are just waiting on baby Timothy!  We only have 11 more weeks to wait before we can see his sweet face and hold him.  Last Tuesday we went for an ultrasound in Oklahoma City.  It was really neat to see him moving around in 4D.  He didn't want to move his hand from his face so the pictures didn't turn out as great as I'd hoped. But, it was really funny because during the ultrasound Jonathan and I looked at each and said almost at the exact moment "He looks so much like Nicholas"!  We'll see if this holds true, but he definitely has Nicholas' little nose and chin.

Speaking of Nicholas, we took him to his first movie last night.  We saw Toy Story 3.  He loved every minute of it and kept his glasses on the whole time.  It just shows you how fast he is growing up.  I'm sure he wouldn't have sat through the whole movie 6 months ago. He is learning new things everyday and it's really exciting to see him so proud of himself when he accomplishes something new.  In his pool the other day I taught him to blow bubbles under water.  He thought he was Mr. Big Fish after that!

Jonathan just went to get paint supplies for Timothy's room.  I will post nursery pics when we get it finished!  Right now I have some Timothy pictures for you and maybe I'll throw one of Nicholas in there too.  Love to everyone!

All Moved In

So it's been forever since my last blog post.  Life has been a little hectic for the Smith family the last month.  We moved from Texas to Oklahoma, stayed with Jonathan's very generous grandparents almost 3 weeks, then last Thursday we closed and moved into our new home.  It's been hectic but well worth it.  We LOVE our new house. Nicholas spends his days running from one end of the house to the other, playing in the sand box, and riding his "motorcycle" around the massive driveway. It's been a blast! We look around every night feeling so blessed that God has been so generous to us.

Tomorrow, I will be 6 months pregnant!  I have to say the second time around has gone by sooo fast.  Only 3 months to go and little Timothy will arrive.  Jonathan and Nicholas put his crib together the other night.  Now Nicholas asks about a million baby questions a day. I think he's getting a little excited about being a big brother.

The first picture is our last family shot taken in our Corpus house.

The next is the happy couple in our new backyard.

Next pic, is Jonathan and Nick at Granny and Papaw White's house.

Then we have Nicholas and his new buddy Brendan Conway.  They are so funny together.  It is "literally" monkey-see monkey-do with those two.

Finally, Nicholas in his sandbox.

Bye Corpus Christi

Today starts our last week in Corpus Christi.  We have lived here a month short of 5 years and have truly been blessed by the experience.  It was the perfect place to begin our marriage and start our family.  It makes me sad to think about leaving the place where Jonathan and I bought our first house, had our first child, watched Nicholas take his first steps, and his first run on the beach, where we found our first church family, and made some of our first life long friends.  We know that God has big plans in store for us in Oklahoma, but we will always look back on our time in Corpus with love and fondness for all the memories we have made and shared with friends.

This will probably be my last blog post for a few weeks.  I will be in between houses and computers. I will post again from Oklahoma when we get settled!  Here is a few pictures of Nicholas from our last trip to the beach.  Love to everyone!

Bluebonnets and Babies

I took Nicholas to the bluebonnet patch by our house yesterday in hopes of getting some cute Easter pictures.  To put it frankly, it was not a success!  Nicholas spent the whole time running around and avoiding the camera. I was so frustrated with him.  But what can you do?  He just wanted to have a good time.

Next Tuesday we go for an ultrasound.  Hopefully, if the baby cooperates, we will know if baby Smith is a boy or girl.  Jonathan says we just hope it's a human (sometimes I don't know why I put up with him)!  LOL!  Anyway, just pray that all goes well and that baby is healthy.  I've still been having some pregnancy related problems and the doctor is hoping this ultrasound will give us some insight into what's going on.  Also, keep praying about the house situation.  We've had lots and lots of lookers but no takers!  Jonathan leaves next weekend to start his new job. So we need to get moving!  We wish everyone a happy Easter and hope we all remember to be thankful this weekend for Jesus' sacrifice for all.  Love to everyone!

New House, New City, New Baby, New Beginnings....Coming Soon

Last week we spent a few days in Duncan house hunting.  Strangely enough, the housing market there is defying the rest of the country and is actually doing quite well.  So there wasn't much to choose from and we had to act fast. We fell in love with an older home in a beautiful subdivision.  Even though, I swore up and down that this time we would not buy an old house!  What can I say?  I just like character.  I won't be posting pics of the house because it isn't legal!  But, lets just say I'm very happy with our choice.  Now we just need to pray that the perfect person comes along and wants to buy our Corpus house.  Nicholas and I are rather fond of Jonathan and really don't want to live apart from him any longer than necessary.
It wouldn't be a blog post without new Nicholas pics, so the first picture is in honor of St. Patty's Day.  The next few pictures are of Nicholas outside being himself.  Notice the tools in the back of  his "motorcycle".  Yes, the tricycle is NOT a bike it is a motorcycle and anyone who says differently has to answer to Nicholas!

Big Changes Coming Soon

Hello Everyone!  So many things are happening so fast it's been hard to keep up!  First of all, for those of you who havent heard, we have a new baby on the way!  The due date is September 12.  I went to the doctor today and everything looks great.  The heartbeat is strong and all is well! I'm almost 3 months along.  We are sooo excited!  It will be fun to have both their birthdays in the same month.  I told Nicholas there was a baby inside Mommy's tummy and he was going to be a big brother.  His response was "It will be a boy baby, E's baby".  So there you have his prediction.  The only baby experience he has is with his friend Ethan's baby brother.  So of course the baby has to be like E's baby!  It's too funny the way his mind works!  Heres a pic of Nicholas and baby E having a
conversation!

The next big change possibly heading our way is that we may be moving to Duncan, Ok very very soon.  This is all work related of course, but I won't go into any details just yet!  I will just say that if we move I will miss my friends and church family here more than words can express.  However, I want to be where God has planned for us to be, so whatever the decision, I will know that it is the right one! I hope that sentence made sense.  Anyway, my Mom and Papaw were here this past weekend and Nicholas kept saying he wanted a cowboy hat just like Papaw's!  Well of course, Gigi aka my mom, went down to Cavendars and bought him one his own size. Except now the child will barely take it off his head! I have to bribe him not to wear it when we go out!  His Da-do said Nicholas is just preparing to be an Oklahoma Cowboy.  Maybe he is right.....

Nicholas is well again!

After almost two weeks of everyone taking turns being sick, we are all well again. Yesterday I got Nicholas out of the house and took him to storytime at the library and to eat at Mcdonalds.  He was like a caged tiger being freed from the zoo!  It was so refreshing to watch him have some fun at last.  This morning he woke up  ready to go to Rainbow School.  He told me "we are going to sing Mickey Mouse and Jesus Loves Me and I so excited Mommy"!

On a darker note, a dangerous new ailment has come over Nicholas.  It is called the TERRIBLE TWO'S!  Nicholas is now under the impression that he is in charge of the household and spends his days pitching fits and trying to overthrow the government in power AKA Jonathan and myself.  For example, if he goes to the time out chair the rule is that he must apologize before he can get up.  So one of us will go and say "ok Nicholas tell me your'e sorry and you can get up"  to which he shakes his head and says "NO"!  He would rather sit in that chair 20 minutes than apologize!  He has a huge stubborn streak!  Jonathan and Mom say that he gets this from me.  Of course, I don't believe that for a minute! So pray for our sanity as we deal with temper tantrums this week.  Nicholas is such a blessing in so many ways that I will take the terrible twos, as long as he still gives lots of sweet hugs and kisses to make up for them!

I've also included a sick picture and a happy Nicholas picture.  In the happy picture he has his tool box and work gloves on.  He thinks he is Mr. Fix It!
