The Past Few Months

Wow!  So much has happened. The kids are growing everyday, especially Timothy.  This little guy learned to sit up, clap, say Da Da, and sprouted 4 new teeth, all in the past month!  Nicholas is learning about dinosaurs in school and had a blast at the zoo this past weekend.  However, he was kinda disappointed we didn't see any dinosaurs there.

I guess the biggest news is that we are moving again.  Jonathan got a new job with Halliburton in Houston.  We are so happy to be back close to our parents and sisters after 6 years.  We will be living in the Katy area and are super excited about the awesome schools, church prospects, and fun activities close by!

I have to say we are a bit sad to leave Duncan.  We have had an amazing year here.  We've met some really amazing Christian friends and had a lot of fun memories exploring all the surrounding Oklahoma towns. And of course, we are really really sad to leave our Smith and White grandparents.  Nicholas has become especially attached to his Granny, Papaw, and Papaw Smith.  But, I see many Oklahoma trips in our future and know that God has a plan for our lives.

No matter where the Lord takes us, Jonathan and I always feel blessed for the time we have and honored to serve him along the way!

Snow Days

Just Staying Warm!

The past two days have been fun for this Texan family!  An Oklahoma blizzard dropped quite a few inches of snow at our house.  Yesterday, Jonathan and I took turns taking Nicholas out to play in the snow. He..wait..I mean "We" had a blast.  Today it has been way too cold to venture out (about 9 degrees) and Nicholas has developed a yucky asthmatic cough.  But is was fun while it lasted!

Things have been going pretty good around here.  Timothy is changing everyday!  Nicholas is doing great and learning lots of things in preschool.  I think he knows how to spell every basic color now!  He's still into Cars, Toy Story, Handy Manny, and now monster trucks (Jonathan took him to a monster truck show last weekend).

We miss everyone and hope you all stay warm and toasty as winter comes to a close.

No Time to Blog!

I am finding out that having two kids, especially one infant, is a whole lot different than just one!  I barely have time to get dressed, let alone sit down to write a few lines on the blog.  But lucky for me, right now Timothy is peacefully napping and Nicholas is watching Handy Manny!

The kids are growing up so fast. Nicholas is reciting books, riding his bike, and is starting to spell words!  He loves preschool and claims to have a new "girlfriend" every week!  Timothy is laughing and is so close to rolling over!

We are trying to get adjusted to this cold Oklahoma weather after living in South Texas for 5 years.  Nicholas is hoping for snow!  We will see if a white Christmas is coming our way!

Here are a few cute Christmas pictures for your entertainment!  Merry Christmas from the Smith's and a happy new year!

Welcome to the World Baby Timothy!

Timothy was born on August 31st at 8:46 pm!  I know he's almost 3 weeks old and I haven't updated my blog.  My defense is that I'm a sleep deprived new Mommy. One of the things we've discovered about Timothy is that his internal feeding clock doesn't stop just because it's nighttime.  This little man eats every 3 hours on the dot!

Needless to say, things have been a bit hectic around the Smith house.  Nicholas is an awesome big brother.  He is very interested in Timothy and loves to be helpful...sometimes too helpful.  For instance, the other morning in the kitchen I was washing bottles, Nicholas was eating, and Timothy was in his little seat...or so I thought.  I turn around and Nicholas is cramming waffles into Timothy's mouth!  Nicholas claims Timothy was just hungry!  So we had a huge discussion about how babies only drink milk and can't eat people food because they have no teeth.  Hopefully this little talk sank in!

I can't take my eyes off these two kiddos!  Bottom line, I am so blessed and wouldn't change anything for the whole world!

Come on out baby Timothy!

I had my 37th week doctor's appointment today!  Timothy is now full term and ready to make his appearance. I won't TMI you with any gory details, however, my doctor believes he will arrive any day now.  We are all super excited.  Perhaps no one more so than Nicholas.  He is asking me no less than 5 million Timothy questions a day.  He goes into the baby's room and plays with the toys, sits in the baby car seat, rocks in the chair, and generally creates big messes for Mommy to clean up!  Hopefully, my next blog post will be titled Welcome to the World Timothy. We are truly blessed! Please keep us in your prayers.

Buzz and Woody

Around the Smith house it is Toy Story talk all the time!  Nicholas loved the movie and loves to play with his "Buzz and Woody" toys even more.  The other night at dinner he announced that "I am going to be Woody for Halloween and Timothy has to be Buzz Lightyear"!  It was really funny because Halloween is months away and who knows why he was thinking about costumes over dinner?  Anyway, being the loving Mommy that I am,  I actually ordered Nicholas' Woody costume and (sigh) Timothy's baby Buzz Lightyear costume the next day.  I can't believe I'm going to dress up my little newborn as Buzz!  The costumes haven't come in yet, but Nicholas is anxiously waiting on the Post Lady everyday to see if she brings them!  In the meantime, he is improvising as you can see from the pictures!

We have a little over 8 weeks till Timothy arrives.  We've finally got the nursery finished (pics to come soon)!  All that's missing is the baby!  So the countdown begins! Baby Buzz Lightyear is on the way.  To infinity and beyond into the world of boys. I'm probably not prepared for this :)

Just Waiting on Baby....

There's not much going on with the Smith's these days.  We are just waiting on baby Timothy!  We only have 11 more weeks to wait before we can see his sweet face and hold him.  Last Tuesday we went for an ultrasound in Oklahoma City.  It was really neat to see him moving around in 4D.  He didn't want to move his hand from his face so the pictures didn't turn out as great as I'd hoped. But, it was really funny because during the ultrasound Jonathan and I looked at each and said almost at the exact moment "He looks so much like Nicholas"!  We'll see if this holds true, but he definitely has Nicholas' little nose and chin.

Speaking of Nicholas, we took him to his first movie last night.  We saw Toy Story 3.  He loved every minute of it and kept his glasses on the whole time.  It just shows you how fast he is growing up.  I'm sure he wouldn't have sat through the whole movie 6 months ago. He is learning new things everyday and it's really exciting to see him so proud of himself when he accomplishes something new.  In his pool the other day I taught him to blow bubbles under water.  He thought he was Mr. Big Fish after that!

Jonathan just went to get paint supplies for Timothy's room.  I will post nursery pics when we get it finished!  Right now I have some Timothy pictures for you and maybe I'll throw one of Nicholas in there too.  Love to everyone!
