The Sick Family

The past week has been tough for us Smiths!  We started out with stomach bug symptoms, then it has progressed to fever, cold, and flu stuff!  Yuck!  Yesterday we thought the worst was behind us, only to have Nicholas wake up this morning with fever, coughing, and vomiting.  Right this minute my dear husband is bleaching down all surfaces.  I thought I would update the blog to let everyone know why we have been hermits to the outside world.  We miss our friends, family, church, and just the outdoors in general.  If Nicholas isn't better tomorrow, we will be heading to the doctor.  Say a quick prayer today for our return to health and pray we can come out of confinement soon! Thought I would post an unhappy Nicholas picture to further my point.  Love to everyone.

Home Boy Nicholas

Nicholas found one of Jonathan's old ski hats and he thinks it is the best invention ever.  He keeps calling it a snowman hat and won't take it off his head!  He looks like a little home boy.

This is also Jonathan and my birthday week!  To celebrate Jonathan took me to The Republic of Texas at the top of the Omni Hotel here in Corpus.  He had pink roses waiting at the table for me.  What a great husband I have!   I can't believe we are 26 and 27.  It seems like only yesterday we were 16 and 17 and getting separated in the church van for "PDA"! (holding hands is not a crime) LOL!  Anyway, it's been a wonderful almost 10 years.

Family Christmas Trip

We had a great week in Baytown with our families.  Nicholas loved seeing all his grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins etc!   Our Jeep was full of stuff on the way home and I am struggling to find a place for all the new toys.  We are so blessed to have over-generous families.  As a result our child wants for nothing and we rarely have to buy anything for him but food and pull-ups!  Thanks family! This picture is of Nicholas and his new garbage truck.  The child is seriously obsessed. At every family Christmas he was more interested in helping everyone pick up the trash than opening presents!

On Saturday we celebrated Mamaw's 100th birthday!  It was so nice getting to see all my relatives that I haven't talked to in many years.  Everything was beautiful, including Mamaw!  She is such an inspiration to everyone she meets.
